THE ALASKA ROOM
The Alaska Room has available for all guests (24/7) coffee, tea & hot chocolate, cold cereal, breads & fruit. Enjoy your time relaxing with others. This room is grand for visitng, playing games, playing the piano, putting a puzzle together or just soaking in the views outside.
THE FRONT DECK
Just outside the front doors is our spacious deck ready for your relaxation. Visit with new friends, take pictures on the larger than life Salmon, BBQ your fresh caught King and soak in the beauty of three mountain ranges.
THE MIDNIGHT SUN ROOM
A room to be enjoyed by all. Lots to do in this spacious guest area. Sauna, Pool table, fooseball table, treadmill, conference area, computer with internet access, books, games and so much more...
THE AURORA ROOM
Perched above the barn is a beautifully equipped viewing area qwith 360 degree views of the Chugach, Talkeetna and Alaska Ranges. Enjoy a cup of coffee around the fireplace and keep an eye out for the Northern Lights above.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming property! The "home" is an exquisitely converted dairy barn, with individually themed rooms focusing on the area's history and a long hallway filled with old photographs illustrating it. Art and artifacts add to the unique ambiance. Although situated in an urban area, the setting is very rural, on a ridge overlooking the valley and three mountain ranges, including most notably the beautiful snowy peaks of the Chugash. An observatory gives the visitor an incredible 360 degree view! On each of our visits, we found the hosts to be among those special people who know how to make strangers feel completely at home. Not only do they prepare and serve a delicious breakfast, there is an amazing variety of complimentary snacks, fruits, and beverages available 24 hours a day, so welcome to a traveler. An activity room includes games and a pool table, and, in a separate alcove, a sauna. We were a party of four adults and two teenagers, and all of us left wishing we could stay longer or return again in the future!

Our unique property was originally homesteaded in the early 1900's by A.J. Swanson. With one of the most majestic views in the Valley, our A.J. Swanson Homestead Cabin currently is available to those who wish to go back in time and enjoy a quiet and rustic night under the stars.
